Bankids

Privacy policy

Last updated 17 August 2026

Bankids is a record-keeping app for family pocket money. This policy explains what we collect, why we hold it, where it lives, and how to get it removed. It is written to be read rather than skimmed, so it is short.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and there is no third-party analytics or tracking code inside the app.

Who we are

Bankids is an independent project operated by the developer of the app. For any privacy question, or to ask for your data to be exported or deleted, write to support@bank-kids.com.

What we collect

Children’s information

A child’s record in Bankids is created by their parent, from information the parent supplies. Children sign in by scanning a short-lived code shown on a parent’s screen, not with an email address. We do not knowingly collect contact details for children, and we do not send email to them. A parent can rename, hide, or delete a child’s record at any time, and can sign that child out of every device from within the app.

Email we send

We send transactional email only, and only in response to something you did: a code to confirm your email address, a code to reset your password, and an invitation with a first-time password when a parent adds someone to a family by email address. We do not send newsletters, promotions, or bulk mail, and we do not add your address to any mailing list.

Where your data lives

Everything is hosted in the European Union, in the Frankfurt region. The database is operated by Neon; the application, file storage, sign-in, and email delivery run on Amazon Web Services. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access between families is enforced in the database itself, so one family’s records cannot be read by another.

These marketing and legal pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when you view them. The app itself does not load them.

How long we keep it

Account and transaction records are kept while the account exists. Sign-in codes and reset codes are stored only as hashes and expire within minutes. Backups are retained for a short rolling window and then discarded.

Your choices

You can export every transaction from inside the app at any time, as Excel, CSV, or PDF. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it by writing to support@bank-kids.com from the address on the account; deletion removes the family group, its children, and their records. If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to access, correct, or restrict the processing of your information, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell account holders by email.
